Songs to represent my six wives part 2

Jane Seymour- Father and son by boy zone. I have chosen this song becuase Jane Seymour was the one that gave Henry VIII a son which is all he ever wanted. Also the lyrics are about someone really wanted a son and then a father spending time with him son and how happy they are!

This song is straight to the point and is called its a heartache. This represent Catherine of Aragon because Henry left her for Anne Boleyn, and told Catherine that he had fallen deeply in love with another women which obviously would of made Catherine really upset and heart broken!

Anne Boleyn- I have chosen this song mainly for the lyrics because Henry blamed Anne for miscarrying the baby boy which he really wanted and was all he had ever wished for. Anne didnt think it was her fault however Henry did and made her be excecuted.

Katherine Parr- Henry and Katherine were more lovers but also like bestfriends when they began to get closer throughout the relationship and Katherine grew very fond on Henrys children and taught them good education.

Songs to represent my six wives!

Anne of Cleves- I have chosen beautiful by Christina Aguilera because Henry said she looked like a horse and divorced her just because of that he didnt think about her personality and the marriage went quick. The song is straight to the point and so was Henry when he called her a horse which hurt Anne's feelings.

Katherine Howard- I love the way you lie - The lyrics in this song explain exactly why i have chosen it because Katherine lied to Henry and cheated on him many times. She flirted behind his back and then in the end got punished for it!

I have also chosen this song for Anne of cleves because she got free without having any trouble with Henry VIII and was still happy without him! :)

A BIT ABOUT MYSELF....

  • Ruled from 17-56.
  • Second son of Henry VII.
  • Married Catherine of Aragon (Spanish), Anne Boleyn (English), Jane Seymore (English), Anne of Cleves (Flemish-Belgian), Catherine Howard (English), Catherine Parr (English).
  • Three children
  • Buried in Windsor Castle.
Lookss ;)
Tall and thickset, with blue-grey eyes, short auburn hair and a beard.
I was handsome in his youth, but became bloated and fat (I had a 54-inch waist when he was 50).
I dressed lavishly, wearing a gold collar with a diamond as big as a walnut and many jewelled rings.

Religion
I brought religious upheaval to England. When I became king, most people belonged to the Catholic Church, which was headed by the Pope, in Rome. In 1534, I broke away from the Catholic Church and proclaimed myself head of the Church of England. The land and riches of the church became my property and I sold off most of this land to dukes, barons and other noblemen.

Sports and Hobbies
I was a great athlete in his youth. I threw the javelin and enjoyed hunting, archery, jousting and tennis. I spoke French, Spanish, Latin and some Italian and was a good musician. I played the lute and harpsichord well and could sing from sight.

My Final Wife- Katherine Parr!

My final wife was called Katherine Parr who had already been married twice before me. I already knew Katherine quite well before anyway and i decided i wanted to marry her so i proposed where she turned me down at first, as i was very ill however i told her that i wouldnt take 'no' for an answer.
Finally she agreed to marry me. She worked very hard to be a good wife to me and a good mother to my three children (Mary, Elizabeth, and Edward). She adored my royal stepchildren, and they seemed to love her as well. During those days, it was very unusual for girls and women to be educated. However, Katherine liked to read and write. She taught Mary, Edward, and Elizabeth how important it was to study and learn about the world.

I and Katherine got along well, but she was more of a nurse than a wife. She humored my moods and down sides, and became my good friend. After we were married for four years, I died. I was only 55 years old, and Katherine was very sad to lose my good friend. My son (Prince Edward) became King Edward VI, even though he was only 10 years old. Our marriage lasted four years! and i must admit i was happy.
A little while after I died, Katherine married Thomas Seymour, a man she loved very much. This i was very annoyed about. She soon became pregnant and had a baby girl (named Mary). After Mary was born, she got sick and died. she was only 36 years old.

My 5th wife- Katherine Howard!

Katherine Howard was my fifth wife and you could say that i didnt make her life with me very happy but I am certain that she deserved it because she loved to flirt! When i was with her i always felt like she thought i was ugly and never really loved me and she only ever married me to become queen, however i always put that down to her age as she was very! young.
However she was Anne Boleyn's cousin and when me and Anne of Cleves were having problems we both would flirt with each other. I was enchanted with her she was young, beautiful and she always gave me a shy smile when we used to meet. It wasnt long after i devorced Anne of Cleves that i called her into my chamber and gave her a beautiful necklace which i called 'the rose without a thorn' i was soo love with her!
I knew i loved her but i hated the fact she didnt love me. However in the end we married! :)

I then felt that Katherine was loosing interest in me and she thought i was old and fat and then she started sneaking away with the young men at court. In the end she came out and told me about 18 months after the wedding that she had been cheating on me and that she wasnt the faithful wife i thought she was.
I became furious and sentenced Katherine to be beheaded for treason. Not only was she sentenced to death, but her lovers were killed as well. So in 1542, after only a few months of being Queen of England, she was beheaded with an axe. Not exactly a happy ending for my 5th wife!

My fourth wife- Anne of Cleves!

Anne of Cleves was my fourth wife after Jane seymour when i was looking for a new lady to give me another son. My adviser told me to marry someone from Germany, however i didnt want to marry someone i had never met so i payed Hans Holbein to make me a portrait of Anne of Cleves and indeed it was very beautiful, and of course i agreed to marry her!
A little while later, Anne came to England to meet me. I thought she was ugly and looked like a horse! She spoke German and i spoke English so we couldn't understand eachother. Thomas Cromwell knew that if the wedding was called off, the royalty in Germany would not be happy. Finally, I agreed to go ahead with the wedding.

Anne of Cleves
But we did not live happily ever after. After the wedding ceremony, she went directly to my chambers however I sent her to a different bedroom. She then realized that we would never have a child.
It did not take very long for me to punish my minister, Thomas Cromwell. Two weeks after our wedding, she found out that I ordered Cromwell to be hanged. Then I sent for Anne and demanded a divorce. However I was smart enough to realize that if she refused she might end up like Cromwell. She agreed to the divorce and I told her that she would be able to live in a castle the rest of her life. I also said I would kindly pay for her maids and other expenses. The marriage was a disaster and i never really loved her, therefore it only last around 6 or 7 months!

Wife No.3 - Jane seymour!

Now that my  second wife was dead, I knew that Jane Seymour would be the next queen of England. No surprise I and Jane were married in less than two weeks after the beheading of Anne Boleyn.
My previous wife Anne knew that there was always something between me Jane and when she found out was furious, as she knew i was loosing interest as there was no son to be had and she was getting old. I often told Jane that I loved her more than my first two wives, therefore she wanted to give me a son, something I wanted so very much.
Jane Seymour

About a year later, a baby boy was born. We named him Prince Edward, and I was thrilled! I began celebrating at court immediately. However, Jane was too sick to celebrate with me. She had a fever. She had tremendous pains in my abdomen and felt cold and chilled throughout.
As much as she wanted to live, Jane could feel her strength slowly leaving her body. The best doctors came to examine her, but they all left with little hope for her recovery. During the 12 days after the birth of our son, I was at Janes bedside urging her to live. I whispered in her ear that I would do anything in my power to save her life. I held Jane's hand and with tears in my eyes told her how much i loved her.
On the 24th of October, 1537, she closed her eyes for the last time. Her death made me very depressed and i always said that i wanted myself to be buried next to hers! Jane was the wife i loved the most she pleased me and gave me everything i wanted! I told her i loved her and i ment it dearly... Im really sad that we were only married for around 16 months and i'd do anything to get her back!

Anne Boleyn- my second wife!

Anne Boleyn was my second wife who i divorced Catherine of Aragon for because i had fallen in love with her so much!
Our marriage started out great. Anne quickly became pregnant, and I prayed that she would give me the son that I wanted. Unfortunately, the child was a girl, and I was very disappointed. Her name was Princess Elizabeth.

Anne Boleyn
A little while after Princess Elizabeth was born, Anne became pregnant again. However, during the seventh month of her pregnancy, I fell off a horse. Anne was so upset when I heard about the accident that she lost the son that she was carrying. When I recovered and found out what had happened to my unborn son, I was furious. I blamed her! She was a witch! I told my guards to take me to the prison at the London Tower, where she was tried for treason. Anne said she was innocent of all the charges, but no one would listen.
The court found her guilty and ordered her execution (death) which was what i asked for. So in 1536 a frenchman was sent to behead her! Our marriage last three years and three months!

Wife No.1 - Catherine of Aragon (annulled)

Catherine of Aragon was my 1st wife and at the time was the princess of wales. My 24-year marriage annuled set in motion a chain of events that led to England's break with the Roman Catholic Church. I was dissatisfied because my sons had died in infancy and others were stillborn, leaving my daughter, the future Mary I of England, as heiress. Catherine became pregnant quickly, but miscarried in early 1510. She became pregnant again almost immediately, and on 31st December 1510 her first living child, a son, was born. He was named Prince Henry, and was baptised and given his own royal household Catherine became pregnant quickly, but miscarried in early 1510. In January 1516 Catherine was once again in childbed. At the age of 31 she gave birth to the only child which would live to adulthood. Wonderful though a living child was, the celebrations were hugely muted because my child, Mary, was a girl and not the son i wanted.
Catherine of Aragon
Catherine of Aragon was born in 1485 and died in 1536. Catherine was born in Aragon, Spain and her parents were King Ferdinand of Aragon and Queen Isabella of Castille. She was my first wife as ive already said and i divorced her so that i could marry Anne Boleyn, who i had began to fall in love with!
